International Callback

The purpose of international callback is to reduce the cost of making calls from a foreign location via the Aglow platform. International callback requires a subscriber to dial into the Aglow platform with a predetermined access code.

They are validated based upon the access code but without answering the call. This prevents the subscriber incurring charges for the call. The subscriber then hangs up and the platform will automatically call them back on a predetermined phone number. The call will be made via cheaper international phone lines, thus making the inbound leg of the call much cheaper. The subscriber can then make an outbound call from the platform in the normal way.

The diagram below shows a typical call flow for an International Callback call. The validation is based on DDI and not CLI as CLIs are not guaranteed to be passed over international borders.
