In short, Fax to Email means receiving faxes sent to you as email attachments instead of the traditional fax to paper. With Fax to Email you will be assigned a +65 6xxx xxxx telephone number that you give out as your fax number. This new fax number stays with you and is what you put on your business cards and website. A fax is converted to an electronic image and will arrive as an email attachment in the form of a TIFF image or PDF format.

You receive faxes as email attachments. You can then treat the fax as with any other TIFF image. You can easily view the fax, save it to disk if you require or even print a copy if desired. If it is something unimportant, you can delete the fax at the click of the button. You can also forward the fax through email to other employees without photocopying it.

Do I need special software?

Do users need to buy any new software or hardware to use the fax to email service? No, most operating systems come with a standard image viewer. These viewers can be used to view the faxes.

This fax service is receive only

To send faxes many people simply use our email2fax solution. All you do is print your fax document in the normal way (apart from selecting our eM@x software instead of your normal printer) and the fax software sends the message to our server and from there it is transmitted just like a from standalone fax machine

What are the charges for people sending a fax to me?

Our fax to email service uses Singapore telephone numbers and the sender will be charged around 0.7cents/min to 1.4cents/min depending on the time of day which is basically the same as a national rate call. Again the exact price will depend on the fax senders service provider.

Fax to email hidden charges, are there any?

No. You will be charged the setup fee of S$15.00 and then S$15.00 per month + GST. That is it as far as costs to you are concerned. Obviously the person sending the fax pays the phone call. You will be invoiced as soon as the service is setup and then again each month until you cancel the service.

I heard of fax2email and faxmail, is this the same as your fax to email service?

Yes, fax2email, faxmail, e-fax, efax and fax to email are basically all the same thing. Someone sends a fax and it then gets converted to email as a TIFF image. Various companies use various different names for this service. Internet Fax and broadband FAX are other examples.

Some fax to email services are free - Why not yours?

The free services are based upon the expectation that the user will send faxes as well, as such the company offering them only earns money when a fax is sent. This is fine providing people use the fax to email service but a lot of people get the service (because it is free) and never use it. This means that the company offering the service still has costs to maintain the service but doesn't earn money unless faxes are sent. A lot of companies stopped doing the free fax to email as it did not pay. We charge so it makes no difference to us whether the service is used heavily or not, either way we can afford to provide the fax to email service and keep providing the service for years to come.

The last thing you want is to print business cards with a fax to email number on them only to find that the company giving the free service away stops the service. After all you get what you pay for - if it is free you can not expect much, if you are charged then you expect (and will get ) a good reliable fax service that will last.
